Young football player scores 1st TD

Micheal Higgins, a fourth grader from Williamsport, scored his first touchdown Sunday, Oct. 11, against the Milton Black Panthers at Milton Panther Cubs Field. Higgins has a rare chromosomal mutation that has left him with severe physical disabilities, most notably loss of peripheral vision, and significant intellectual disabilities. He’s remarkable as not many children with this rare syndrome and the degree of disabilities would be able to compete in organized sports, let alone tackle football. The Panther Cubs organization said it was an honor to share the special moment with Higgins, his team, family and friends. Video of the event has been shared to the Milton Panther Cubs Football and Cheerleading page.
