Mifflinburg resident recognized by national magazine

A Mifflinburg resident has recently been nationally recognized as Volunteer of the Year by GBU Financial Life. Sally Rothermel has volunteered with her church, Mifflinburg Kiwanis, the Greater Susquehanna Valley Penn State Alumni Club and several other community organizations over many years. She was featured in GBU’s Fall magazine and awarded a $1,000 check to be given to her charity of choice. Mifflinburg’s Kiwanis Club received this check at a recent meeting held at the Carriage Corner restaurant and will use it to further their mission of 'improving the world one child and one community at a time.' Rothermel, a retired teacher, and her husband, Craig, are the parents of three grown children and grandparents to five. They have received GBU investment services from agent Robin Feltman, whose office is located in Selinsgrove. Rothermel is shown presenting the check to Kiwanis President Jeff Mensch (right) and Treasurer Drew Christy (center).
