Fairport, N.Y. -

Hundreds turned out Thursday night to mark the first anniversary of the crash that killed five Fairport graduates.

By 9:30 p.m., the hill beside Fairport High School, dubbed "Angel Hill," was filled with students, parents and school staff, who came out to memorialize Hannah Congdon, Bailey Goodman, Meredith McClure, Sara Monnat and Katherine "Katie" Shirley -- the five young women who perished in the Ontario County accident five days after their graduation.

In the school's memorial garden, a single candle flickered at each girl's tree during the vigil. Around the trees were stuffed animals, flowers and other mementos.

During the vigil, five lighted balloons were released above the crowd in memory of each of their lives.
