MIFFLINBURG — Still seeking that all-important 10th win, Mifflinburg not only got a step closer to playoff baseball, but knocked the league-leading Bulldogs off their perch in the battle for the Susquehanna Valley League crown with an upset win at Mifflinburg.
Cory Dorman scored the game winner when he ran all the way home from first on a Billy Sheakley single to left that was misplayed.
Lefty Brandon Hendrix pitched a gem, going seven complete, giving up eight hits and fanning four.
Dorman finished the day 2-for-2 and Sheakley was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Alex Shambach also had two hits for the Wildcats, who improved to 9-7 overall and in league play.
Shore fell to 13-2.
Mifflinburg hosts Milton on Wednesday.
Shikellamy 5
Warrior Run 0
SUNBURY — Shikellamy plated four in the sixth to end what had been a pitcher’s duel Monday afternoon in Sunbury.
The Braves’ J.A. Brosious pitched a complete-game one-hitter as Shik improved to 11-4 overall and in Susquehanna Valley League play.
Warrior Run is 1-14 overall and in league play.
Ashton Mook singled for the Defenders, who are back in action Wednesday at Danville.

Williamsport 0 (9)
WILLIAMSPORT — Taylor Musser blasted a two-run double in the top of the ninth, which proved to be the game winners as the Wildcats downed the Millionaires Monday in non-league softball action at Williamsport.
Emily Crandell threw nine complete, gave up seven hits and fanned 11 to pick up the win. Williamsport’s Brittany Peterson gave up six hits over nine complete and fanned 18 in a losing effort.
Amy Cline and Crandell both finished with two hits for the Wildcats, who improved to 12-3 overall with the win.
In the ninth, Hannah Allison reached on an infield single to start things, then Corrin Showalter bunted her over. Crandell walked to set the stage for Musser, who delivered a shot to deep left down the line.
Mifflinburg entertains Milton today.
Lewisburg 9
East Juniata 0
COCOLAMUS — Freshman Rachel Sumfest twirled a one-hit shutout and fanned nine Tigers as Lewisburg blanked East Juniata in non-league softball action Monday at East Juniata.
The Dragons got three hits from Renee Shaffer and Destinee Koons doubled and plated three runs. Kelsey Deem, Morgan Fisher and Katie Sullivan each finished with two hits apiece for Lewisburg, which improved to 5-9 overall this season.
The Dragons are back in action today at home with Shikellamy.
