Warrior Run backup quarterback Remington Corderman looks to throw the ball late in Friday night’s game against Central Columbia.

TURBOTVILLE — From the outset of Friday night’s game against Central Columbia, things didn’t go well for Warrior Run.

The Blue Jays scored twice in the opening 12 minutes, and they kept on scoring to cruise to a 49-0 victory over the Defenders in the Heartland Athletic Conference cross-over game.

Isaac Gensemer reeled off three touchdowns in the first half off runs of 8, 13 and 11 yards to build Central’s lead to 28-0 at the break. Gensemer finished with 178 yards in the game on 21 carries.

The Blue Jays would add onto their lead in a big way in the second half thanks to an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Troy Johnson, in addition to a fumble that was recovered by Kristopher Funson in the endzone.

Johnson, who added a four-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, helped Central (5-3) rush for a total of 288 yards in the game.

Remington Corderman threw for 81 yards in the game for Warrior Run (2-6), but the Defenders could do little else.

Warrior Run had -12 yards rushing as Central’s defense just dominated the line of scrimmage.

Warrior Run will look to rebound when it plays at Loyalsock next week.
