SELINSGROVE — The Black Panthers had the potential game-tying and game-winning runs on base in the top of the seventh inning, but Seals relief pitcher Samantha Artley got out of the jam to send Milton to the HAC-I loss.
“Tonight’s game was a crazy game to say the least. Both teams hit the ball very well from 1-9 and scoring was plentiful,” said Milton coach Todd Fedder. “Our ladies fought hard til the last out when the tying run was standing on third, but we came up short.”
Milton (1-2, 0-2 HAC-I) took a 12-6 lead in the fifth on a three-run home run by Cameryn Guisewite and a grand slam by Austin Swallow, but Selinsgrove responded with nine runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 15-12 lead and the Seals never looked back.
Milton is next at Mifflinburg at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
