WILLIAMSPORT — Dennis W. Merrell, 55, of Fairview Terrace, Williamsport, died Monday, May 5, 2008, in the Gatehouse, Williamsport.
Born Aug. 3, 1952, in Lewisburg, he was a son of the late Hardie and Thelma Mae (Hoffman) Merrell.
Mr. Merrell graduated from the Warrior Run High School with the Class of 1970.
He worked as a truck driver for Schaedler Yesco Distribution, Williamsport. Earlier in his life, he worked for the former Keeler Supply and Raub Supply, both of Williamsport.
Mr. Merrell was a member of the Williamsport YMCA.
He enjoyed golfing.
Mr. Merrell is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Randall and Cheryl Merrell of Watsontown and Donald and Sharon Merrell of Turbotville; two nephews and a niece.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marlin E. Merrell, in 2005.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia, with the Rev. Kraig L. Faust, pastor of Saint John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church, officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
