ELIZABETHVILLE — Ammon J. Loss, 81, a resident of Kepler Nursing Home, Elizabethville, since Dec. 4, 2007, and formerly of Hartleton, died at 4:20 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2008, in the nursing home.
Born March 16, 1927, he was the son of the late Elmer Loss.
His wife, the former Geraldine Feese, preceded him in death.
Mr. Loss retired from Bucknell University after working many years in the maintenance department. He also owned and operated a garbage disposal business.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Loss is survived by two daughters, Ruth Shemory and Sylvia Long; two stepsons, David Frederick and Mark Loss; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Hanselman.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Hartleton Cemetery, Route 45, with Pastor Henry Dorman officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of Roupp Funeral Home, 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg.
