Andrew B. “Andy” Miller, 53, of Pennsylvania Avenue, Watsontown, died Friday, May 9, 2008, in the emergency room of Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born March 19, 1955, in Turbotville, he was the son of the late Harry S. and Gladys M. (Golder) Miller.
He and his wife, the former Cindy L. Wertz, were married Nov. 24, 1973.
Mr. Miller graduated from Warrior Run High School with the Class of 1973.
He had worked for Interstate Trucking and most recently at Furman Foods, Northumberland.
Mr. Miller enjoyed softball and baseball and had played baseball in high school. Following graduation, he played with a fast-pitch softball team in Milton. He had been a coach for Little League in Watsontown for nearly eight years and also umpired the senior division. While his sons both played baseball at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus, he helped there as an assistant coach. Mr. Miller also enjoyed the Phillies, Dallas Cowboys and Penn State.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Scott A. and Charity Miller and Todd M. Miller, all of Watsontown; three grandchildren, Jared, Haley and Ryan Miller; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Ronald Lewis of Dewart and Amy and Randal Hart of Allenwood; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Timothy and Penny Miller and Thomas and Tracy Miller, all of Turbotville.
Visitors may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main St., Watsontown.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. David King of Grace Baptist Church of West Milton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warrior Run Athletic Association, 4800 Susquehanna Trail, Turbotville, Pa. 17772.
