Helen Augusta Englehart, 89, a resident of RiverWoods, Lewisburg, since 2006, and formerly of 100 Rudy Lane, Mifflinburg, died at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in the nursing home.
Born Jan. 23, 1919, in Lewis Township, Union County, she was the youngest daughter of the late Charles and Flora (Harden) Rudy.
She and her husband of 60 years, Dale A. Englehart, were married April 10, 1935. He died Dec. 26, 1995.
Mrs. Englehart attended the Salem School, rural Mifflinburg, and was a former member of the Pleasant Grove Evangelical Church, rural Mifflinburg. In later years, as her health permitted, she attended Hillside Bible Church, Mifflinburg, and then services at RiverWoods.
She was a housewife and enjoyed watching inspirational programs, gospel music, crocheting and planting flowers.
She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her cat. Earlier in life, she played the guitar and sang with a group of relatives and friends.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jacquita D. “Jacquie” and Kenneth W. Peachey of Mifflinburg; four grandchildren, Gregg Peachey and his wife Brenda of Mifflinburg, Tracy Heimbach and her husband Mervin of Selinsgrove, Kelly Peachey of Mifflinburg and Kerry Nornhold and her husband Kyle of Mifflinburg; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Wallace Rudy; and seven sisters, Ruth Rudy, Viola Wallace, Carrie Reeder, Sarah Sheesley, Margaret Hackenberg, Mary Tyson and Grace Englehart. She was the last of her immediate family.
Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel at Schwartz-Adamo Funeral Services, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev Ned L. Knisely officiating. Interment will be in Ray’s Church Cemetery, Mifflinburg.
