WATSONTOWN — Corene J. Tompkins, 93, of Warrior Run Manor, Watsontown, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

Born June 26, 1925, in White Deer, she was the daughter of the late Henry E. and Hazel (Koch) Ranck. She was married to Robert Hemrick until his passing and then was married to the late Robert Tompkins.

Corene was a 1943 graduate of Watsontown High School and she worked at Montgomery Mills and then in the housekeeping department at Bucknell University.

Corene was an active member of Faith Chapel in White Deer. She was a member of the Watsontown American Legion and of the White Deer Park Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping at Nittany Mountain Campground in New Columbia. Corene liked to play dominoes, cards and all sorts of games.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Ken Fraboni of Milton; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Jr. and Jacki Hemrick of Allenwood; four grandchildren, Anna Russell, Phil Boehmer, Anthony Fraboni and Steven Hemrick; nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Corene was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Dugan.

Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, where funeral service will be held at 11 with Pastor Christine Mastin officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
