MILTON — Ruth A. Miller, 74, of Old Route 45, Milton, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2019, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by her beloved family.

She was born July 22, 1944, a daughter of the late John and Alice Hollenbach. She married Harry (Jack) Miller, who survives, on Jan. 1, 1965 and together they celebrated 54 years of marriage.

In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Jackie and David Thoryk of Cambelltown, Julie and Paul Ruch of Turbotville and Penny and Chris Trapani of Turbotville; six grandchildren, Bethany and Amanda Thoryk, Garrett and Riley Ruch and Lauren and Lindsey Trapani; one brother, Thomas Hollenbach of Washington, D.C.; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Raymond Leeser of Milton; and one brother-in-law, James Moore of Watsontown and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Moore.

Ruth was an employee of Bucknell University until her retirement in 2012.

She touched the lives of many and thumbed her nose at cancer during the past five years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband on countless adventures, spending time with her grandchildren and attending their many sporting events, playing cards with her card club friends each week, reconnecting with old friends and making the annual two-week family trip to the beach.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in West Milton. Visitation will occur prior to the service beginning at 10.

Donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
