TURBOTVILLE — Three local men have been charged with vandalism and criminal mischief after allegedly trashing soccer fields at the Moser Sports Complex and behind the Warrior Run High School near Turbotville in March.
Adam Gavitt, 18, of Muncy; Derek Miller, 21, of Milton; and Robert Troutman III, 21, of Milton, have been charged by police and face criminal prosecution in connection with the vandalism that occurred between 2 and 5 a.m. March 20.
At the time of the incident, Standard Journal reported the fields sustained around $6,000 worth of damages after multiple vehicles did “donuts” all over the soccer fields.
Mike Stump, field manager of the Warrior Run AYSO, initially discovered the damage and said this morning he is pleased how thoroughly state police conducted their investigation to nab the suspects.
“I really appreciate all the community support we received,” he added. “I’ve had people from as far away as Middleburg call and say they’d be glad to help us out.”
Stump also noted damage to the fields has not yet been fixed. The teams are currently using a spare field at the complex.
He said the Warrior Run School District has been working to repair the fields.
Stump said Warrior Run AYSO was thankful for the investigative efforts of state Trooper Matt LaForme.
