Rotarians welcome new president

Karen Nicholson, Lewisburg, has taken over as the new president of the Lewisburg Sunrise Rotary Club. Nicholson currently works as a mental health therapist for Diakon Family Life Services. She has a Master of Arts from Kent State University. She spent 27 years in the criminal justice system as a federal prison warden, while raising her now two grown sons. After retiring, she worked as a warden for an INS detention facility and eventually as a project coordinator for a new prison in Philipsburg. She also has started her own consulting company, Corrections Consultants LLC, which does auditing, assessment, and training for correctional facilities and jails. She serves as a volunteer for The Green Dragon Foundation, The Susquehanna Valley CASA, Union County YMCA Board, and the Susquehanna Valley Mediation Board. Nicholson, right, has been a Rotarian for more than seven years. She is pictured with outgoing president Wyatt Troxell.
