Bucknell grad wins second Oscar

Acceptance speech included plea for bankrupt company

LEWISBURG — Visual Effects Supervisor Bill Westenhofer, a Bucknell University graduate, won a second-career Academy Award for visual effects Sunday night. Westenhofer accepted the Oscar on behalf of the team at his Rhythm and Hues production company for their work on “Life of Pi”, a best picture nominee.

The fantasy adventure about a young man shipwrecked on a raft with a Bengal tiger also netted a best director award for Ang Lee, best original musical score and best cinematography awards.
